WOYWW 190

On my work desk this week is a beaded lampshade I have been making for some time.   My crafting 'Muse' seems to have left me temporarily, so have gone back to this lampshade and determined to finish it this year.  It will have over 45,000 seed beads when completed.  It is the second one I have done, but can only do so much at a time, as it is very fiddly to do!
You can see from the frame that I am about half way through, so have a long way to go.   All beads are threaded by hand onto beading needles and then pulled up through a hole in the wooden ring, tied and glued.
Now hopping over to Julia's place at Stamping Ground to see what everyone has been doing whilst it has been snowing.
Best wishes to all

  7. Hi Tuesday
Wow your lampshade is fabulous, I am a big beading fan (not my size my passion) so I know how long this sort of project takes, all power to you to finish it this year. Did you design it yourself?. I love the shelves behind your desk. I see you too are a stampotique fan, dont you just love their quirky designs. have a good week

  8. WOW! Impressive! I wouldn't have the patience it takes to thread those beads to create the shade not to mention anyone who messed with the lamp would forfeit their life if they touched it! Gorgeous! Thanks for stopping by my desk! Have a great week and thanks for sharing. Vickie #35

  9. You need to finish this. It is stunning! I have never seen anything like it before. I can see it must have taken a lot of skill and patience. I needs to be in pride of place when you get it finished. Is it from a pattern or your own design? Thanks for popping by. Happy WOYWW to you from Helen 42

  10. Oh Sue, my word..I don't think I have enough superlatives for this. Love the 'pick it up and put it down'-ness of it, your patience is remarkable..and stand back from it and look at it from my persepctive. It's amazing. And finishing it will be a fab achievement...ohemgee, I think you're making an absolute heirloom.
